Materials:

Paint brushes: Nos. 8, 12 Wave, No. 4 Shader, 3/4 Wash
3.5" x 5"
rectangle Wood Plaque
Acrylic Paints:
Winter Blue, Cadmium Red, Snow White, True Blue, Hauser Dark Green,
Hauser Light Green
Miscellaneous Items:
transfer paper, disposable palette, water basin, pencil, paper towel,
pattern
Directions:
- Basecoat plaque
with Winter Blue using Wash Brush and allow to dry.
- Transfer Flag
pattern if needed. Paint corner square True Blue with Wash Brush. Use
No. 12 Wave brush to paint alternating stripes Cadmium Red and Snow
White.
- When paint has
dried, transfer rose design in corner.
- Double load the No.
8 Wave brush with Hauser Dark Green and Hauser Light Green and paint
each leaf. Allow the Wave brush to create the leaf detail. Add either
a darker or lighter green if needed for accent. The edge of the wave
brush will continue to keep the leaf detail.
- Double load the No.
8 Wave brush with Snow White and Winter Blue and paint the rose
starting with the top curve keeping Snow White to the top. Allow the
brush to do the work for you as you continue to paint petals from left
to right and right to left, with the Wave brush double loaded with
Winter Blue and Snow White.
- When the paint for
the rose has dried, double load the No. 12 Wave brush with Snow White
and Hauser Light Green, using the very edge, lightly touch the brush
to the surface to create lacey foliage.
