Instructions for Tulip Cards

Tulip Cards

  1. Load Wave Filbert with Wisteria and tip side corner in Lavender. Paint three strokes for back petals beginning at the top and pulling downward, painting right and left petals first and middle petal last. Repeat for front petals by loading Wave Filbert with Lavender and tipping side corner in Wisteria. Blend at the bottom to smooth edge.

  2. Make an inky consistency of Evergreen and Hauser Medium Green. Pull one side of the Liner through the darker green paint color, turn and run the other side through the lighter green paint. Paint stems by pulling Liner from top to bottom.

  3. With No. 10 Shader, paint leaves beginning at bottom, press brush at an angle and pull moving brush upward, finishing with a quick pull to create the point end of the leaves.

  4. Dot center using tip of Liner and Antique Gold. Dry and Dot over with Black Green.

  5. Repeat same strokes for Pink Tulip. Paint back petals by filling Wave Filbert with Royal Fuchsia and tipping corner in Baby Pink. Fill Wave Filbert with Baby Pink and tip corner in Royal Fuchsia. Dot Centers and paint stem and leaves.

  6. Fill No. 10 Shader with Primary Yellow and tip corner in Antique Gold and paint butterfly wings. Use the same stroke for the wings as for the leaves on the trumpet flower. Use a No. I Liner and Black Green and paint body of the Butterfly.

Instructions for Trumpet Cards

Trumpet Flower Card

  1. Fill Wave Filbert with Cadmium Orange tipping corner in Tangelo and paint Trumpet from bottom up applying pressure at Top (Petal Area) Press Cadmium Orange for each petal blending paint into center to cover entire flower top. Pick up Tangelo Orange with Wave Filbert and blend each petal, more on front petals and on outer edge of back petals. Make petal stroke by pressing brush for the shape of each petal keeping round on outside edge and pull inward while pulling up and away toward center.

  2. Paint the Stems with the Liner and Evergreen.

  3. Using the No. 6 Shader, paint each leaf with a double load of Hauser Medium Green and Evergreen. To double load, apply lighter paint to one side of brush and darker to remaining side. Blend paint into brush by stroking on paper. Pick up enough paint to have a good load on the brush. Paint each leaf by using corner and side of brush, press slightly and pull up to create finishing point.
