Basket Weave |

Use the Wave®
Shader to create the look of basket weave. Paint a short stroke from
left to right, use the chisel edge to make a line and paint another
stroke. Continue with the first row until desired length weave is complete.
The second row will begin with alternating strokes. The process will
have the look of layering bricks. When desired amount of rows are complete,
use the Wave¨ Shader and a darker or lighter color and pull the Shader
back over the weave strokes but from right to left.
For braiding, double
load the tip of the Wave® Shader with a dark and light paint at
an angle keeping the lighter paint to the top. Keep strokes short, lifting
with a quick finish. The handle is made in the same fashion as the woven
braid along the top. Double load the tip with a dark and light color
and paint the bottom line on the basket. When the basket has dried,
use a watered down paint and wash over open areas and across the top
to show the inside of the basket. Use the Woven braid stroke across
the back of the washed area. Stippled foliage looks lovely in baskets
as do small flowers.
